Paul Bergrin SAM Renewed Again: BOP and Newark

US Attorney General Sessions has rubber-stamped Paul Bergrin's SAMs (Special Administrative Measures) for the Newark US Attorney's Office. It is now over two years that Paul has been held incommunicado at the US Supermax in Florence, Colorado, and with no end in sight. You'd think he was a terrorist or something. And apparently they're starving him there, so the plot must be a slow death, never lifting the SAMs.

This is the most recent letter to the court from Paul followed by previous documents that I neglected to publish:

I sometimes make comments elsewhere regarding the situation with Paul, and this is one I posted today on an article from The Intercept on Facebook. Often my comments about Paul Bergrin on social media disappear, so on occasion, I will be posting comments that make a point here. I decided to just copy it here so it is verbatim:

The real problem is not necessarily "flipping" as Trump refers to it. Often the major problem is government prosecutors giving defendants the choice of a long mandatory minimum sentence or say what they need stated about a target. More often than not, prosecutors are well aware that the information is false and it takes LE / FBI / DEA feeding certain facts to these defendants so it all sounds viable when it's regurgitated repeatedly over a period of years if necessary. Sometimes the LE agencies collude with media to get the story they want published the way they want it and simply hand defendants a newspaper. When all of that still sounds questionable because it's a false narrative coming from the defendant, the agents and prosecutors will play the memory refresher game.

Need proof? Loads of cases, but one of the worst in history is that of Paul Bergrin. For whatever reason, The Intercept has always ignored the Paul Bergrin saga. However, I will attest to the fact that all it takes to dismantle the entire massive case against Paul is reading and researching. The Intercept and just about any other non-mainstream media instead finds it easier to ignore or skip. I get that because my reading and research on the case has continued for close to 8 years now and I frequently come across information I was previously unaware of. It's daunting, no doubt, but it cannot be glossed over or ignored by everyone.

Paul Bergrin has been suffering in the H-unit of Florence ADMAX with a SAMs designation for over two years now! It's like everyone forgot (conveniently or otherwise) who Paul Bergrin actually is and what he accomplished, and tried to accomplish, in the War on Terror. Why do you think he's incommunicado? It sure isn't for the reasons stated by the government!

Expect to see more posts on this blog regularly. I could never forget Paul or his immense suffering at the hands of US government agents and actors; however, this case or saga just goes on and on and it is depressing. I expect that my next post will be a plea to specific people for help – I've been working on it, but am not finished yet. Another post will concern potential new evidence – if it's not addressed directly to the court or in a motion by early October, I will be discussing it here. So, check back on occasion.

Here is a link to a letter that Paul mailed to the court and was filed on September 25, 2018. The letter concerns gun evidence relating to the Kemo McCray murder:

Bergrin 2255 Letter September 25 2018

EDIT on October 1, 2018 to add a document.

Whatever ever happened to Thomas Moran (I'm sure he was called "moron" in school), anyway, what kind of bid did he get? Thanks

@Anonymous

In all honesty, I have never followed up on witness sentences in this case. I've had people tell me a few, like Anthony Young the so-called hitman that murdered Kemo. Young didn't think he would spend any time behind bars, but they had to hold him until Paul was convicted in the 2nd trial, but he was free shortly after the trial.

Moran made a deal to serve no more than 11 years, but not sure of the actual sentence. Plus after sentencing the government would have filed a 5K1.1 motion for his substantial assistance. I don't think he went to prison at all or if he did, a year or 2 at most.

But to Moran"s credit - he made the false statements for the government after they threatened him with the death penalty. Yes, the death penalty down to zero or near zero time.

ARE THE PAUL BERGRIN CASE LOADS OR DOCUMENTS COULD THEY BE HIDDEN THROUGH A COVER UP ON KAVANAUGHS TENURE?? MR BERGRIN DID TAKE THIS CASE AND EXSPOSED THE BUSH ADD,WHAT'S GOING ON VICKY...

I never heard Paul speak of or write anything about Kavanaugh. If asked, he could know something about him though. It depends on what part Kavanaugh played regarding the torture memos. At any rate, I have never heard the name until he was nominated for the SCOTUS.

Kavanaugh has nothing to do with Pauls case. Alito has a lot to do with Pauls
case. If you read Maximum Hypocrisy written by Paul, you will know that Paul never
wanted to commit perjuries when he was prosecutor. He never played in the dirty games of these guys from NJ, he stood up for the truth always. What would be great is not to see all these corrupted men in the Justice system of the country.
Its amazing to see that finally Americans are fighting for real Justice, sincerely
hope this is just the beginning because these dirty games of perjuries MUST STOP!

@Anonymous

I would still like to ask Paul about Kavanaugh some day as he worked in positions within the Bush administration that could have involved him in the torture arguments. Paul never mentioned the guy to me on the phone, in letters, or in emails though. However, I think the previous comment that I was responding to is mixing-up Kavanaugh the newly confirmed SCOTUS justice and Cavanaugh, the previous trial judge on Paul's case. Spelling makes a difference.

An FYI-

Aha! Sure wish I could ask Paul Bergrin about Kavanaugh!

"“The communication to EPIC revealed that Kavanaugh sent 11 e-mails to John Yoo, the architect of warrantless wiretapping; 227 e-mails about ‘surveillance’ programs and the ‘Patriot Act;’ and 119 e-mails concerning ‘CAPPS II’ (passenger profiling), ‘Fusion Centers’ (government surveillance centers), and the Privacy Act,” EPIC said in a statement announcing the revelation."

That was my whole point vicky, about supreme court judge Kavanaugh not the federal judge CAVANAUGH. AS FAR AS TORTURE ARGUMENTS and the Bush administration involvement.

Does this confirm that Justice Kavanaugh has covered up for the government and hidden its
implication and responsibilities in all these illegal tortures. These are war crimes.

Vicky Gallas said...

@the last Anonymous -

If that is a question, where do you see such a statement? No one here confirms any such thing. No one is able to speak to Paul Bergrin because he is incommunicado. Paul may or may not know anything about Kavanaugh. Too late now anyway.

This man and his family must be terribly hurt. How can we leave such an injustice
take place in our country and be blinded by this. When will justice prevail for
many innocents that are in our prisons for revenge. We should be ashamed of our justice system and do something real serious about it. This could start by a fair
retrial for Mr.Paul Bergrin.

Six life terms and 200 years, I couldn't do that bid.

Hey last anonymous who are you, yes who are you. Are you another one of these
smart guys for which Paul has done quite a lot and that today does nothing for him
because he is in prison. There are plenty of guys like you. You are just one more
of these guys afraid of helping him when he helped you. Well know that Paul Bergrin
is not a loser, he is a good man that did a lot of good for many. So choose, be a loser or a winner, but stand up to what you are. There is no in between. All of Pauls true friend should be here with him today and not tomorrow.

Marie, paul is a stand up guy. That's all I have to add...oh, also the possessive takes an apostrophe.

Anonymous said...

Well, I don't think Paul is a stand up guy. I know that the possessive takes an apostrophe, it is my computer. Yet, I speak and write four languages which is not
so bad. I have 3 university degrees, a BA in philosophy etc... I am not here to show
off, I write because I care for Paul and his family.
Paul knows what I am and he would never be disrespectful to me in any way.
Thank you for your concern, very flattered. Merci, Marie Christine.

Marie,

A "stand up guy" is something good. Whoever wrote the comment is saying something nice about Paul. First Google entry says:

"What's the origin of the phrase 'Stand up guy'? The allusion is to someone who would be prepared to stand up and fight on your side if called on, that is, one who, in the words of the earlier (late 19th century) phrase, would 'stand up and be counted'. The phrase is, of course, American."

I do understand what you think it meant though. As the Google entry says, it is an American phrase.

I do apologize for having misunderstood the American phrase *STAND UP GUY*.
No one is perfect and we all can make mistakes.
I would love to take the opportunity of this comment to ask all of Pauls friends
to do something today, to come forward and help him.
I am asking them to become stand up guys. You cannot send him money because he is
under a SAMS but you can send him dozens of books from publishers.
Pauls birthday is coming up and also XMAS. So send Paul books.
I know he needs commissary but that is not possible. The food in that prison
must be bad, he must be in need of sneakers, boxers etc...and he is locked up in solitary confinement for many hours per day.
Personally, I have sent commissary in the past and $400 were not given to him.
They remain in an account. I wrote to ask the prison to give him those $400 but
it appears that he never received them. The prison never replied to my letter either.
Vicky has been a great supporter of Paul. Have people read her blog and encourage
her.
If Paul could speak to you he would say, PLEASE STAY IN TOUCH DONT GIVE UP ON ME.
Paul must not be forgotten. He asked me in 2013 not to forget him and I have and will never forget this STAND UP GUY.
Marie.
